To somewhere Else

2017-2019
“We followed the footsteps of those who walked away from chaos and toward the unknown—carrying only hope, memory, and the need to believe. Through sound, image, and presence, we shaped a space where exile meets imagination, and where the longing for freedom becomes a language of its own.”
Azadeh Kangarani
A multimedia production featuring live-projected digital drawings and live music performed on stage accompanied by instruments such as drums, accordion, and trumpet, all of which underscore the dramatic moments of the story. The performers, through their interaction and commitment, complete this 'dance' of contrasting elements.
The story is primarily inspired by historical events from around 1737, when some inhabitants of Moravia and Bohemia undertook a harsh journey into exile in Berlin’s Rixdorf District. In search of a quiet, secure place, they longed for the basic freedoms to live, work, and believe. The production explores themes of liberty, persecution, violence, rebuilding—and the search for connection with others that offers the hope that everything, somehow, makes sense.
